305 Behind the Lower Saxony State Museum Hanover

This wonderful sculpture is located behind the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover, Germany.

Odin is seated on his throne, Hlidskjalf, with his mighty wolves, Geri and Freki (both names mean  “the ravenous” or “greedy one”) at his feet.

His two ravens, Huginn and Muninn (“thought” and  “memory” respectively) perch at his shoulders.

He is holding his spear, Gungnir,  with Gram,  his sword, at his side.
